Hello, again!

Well, I really didn't mean to take such a long break from blogging. One thing led to another and now it is February.

I have been away from home quite a lot in the last couple of months so there has been a reduced amount of sewing. I did manage today to finish Valentine's Day placemats for the grandkids. I used the heart block from the Missouri Star Quilt Company's YouTube tutorial and added my own embroidery to personalized them for each. I'll add a little something more and get them in the mail soon.

I know I promised Christmas secret projects when I blogged last. Here is a lap quilt I made for my mother-in-law. It is a D9P using Moda's Late Bloomers by Sandy Gervais. I quilted it with an all over stipple.

Here is a larger lap quilt for my daughter-in-law who loves Christmas -- Christmas colors using Kona cotton with gifts on the back. The zig-zag pattern is from Crazy Mom Quilts and the gift block is from a pattern on the blog SewWeQuilt. I quilted this one with a straight stitch a quarter of an inch from each color echoing the pattern.

More in the next blog post.

love, Connie
