One thing becomes another

Well, I started to make a pillow like this (Thanks Kati for the pattern). But the more I worked on it I decided that I didn't want anyone to sit on it or throw it around. So, it became a wall hanging.

The free motion quilting on the white, which I've not done much, began as gentle snow but before long turned into a raging blizzard. It is more dense than I intended. The wavy lines of quilting at the base of the tree represent snow drifts, if you hadn't already guessed. The tree and star are quilted in the ditch. The tree is paper pieced which is a first for me (Thanks Ashley for the tutorial).

This mini quilt is 20" square and will live at my house (where there is no snow in winter), probably above the fireplace. Maybe next year there'll be snow!

love, Connie
